Little Brother has suddenly developed a fear of being in a room alone. This means that he demands company during every bathroom trip.
Just now I lost my patience with the whole thing and shouted, “Why can’t you go to the bathroom by yourself?!”
His answer: “Because I love you.” And he gave me a little kiss.
Obviously charm in a 4-year-old is a Survival Skill.

yeah I usually get that response after I lose it with my boys. Doesn’t it make you feel great?
Or, for me, I’ll be reading something and my four year old sits nearby silently for while. Suddenly, she comes up and gently puts her head on my arm and sweetly says, “Mommy, I love you soooo much,” and blows a little kiss at me. And I realize I’m such a dork for reading instead of just cuddling her or reading to her.
My then 4 year old girl used to be afraid of being on the upstairs level of the house by herself, after a while of me ignoring her pleading that I accompany her for every trip up to her bedroom for polly pockets, etc., she decided that hearing my voice was almost as good as me being bodily there with her. She would shout, “MAMA!?” and I would answer, “WHAT, Weazy?” the whole time she was up there. She did get over it after about a year, so good news for you! Heehee, now it’s something funny to talk about but at the time, I know I was very annoyed. Just goes to show that we should enjoy all of our children’s weirdness while we can!
