Small Success Thursday: Homemade Latte Edition

Small-Success-Thursday-400pxIt’s Pink Candle Week, which means Christmas is coming up a whole lot faster than I’m ready for. Between that and taking on the “full-time job” of keeping my newly diabetic child alive another week, I’ve got a pretty full plate. I am pleased to report that:

  • I let someone help me do the Christmas shopping. Middle Sister offered to go to the mall and purchase gifts for the “girl pumpkin spice lattecousins.” I happily gave her a budget and sent her on her way. I’m sure her cousins will like presents Middle Sister picked out much more than they’d like what I’d have chosen! Everybody wins!
  • I survived a day of substitute-teaching a very challenging 4th-grade class with one hour’s notice and no lesson plan. Nobody cried. Not even me.
  • I have achieved the most delicious homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte. Reading the directions on the mini-frother definitely helps. Here’s how you make it using a Keurig brewer:  fill mug 1/3 full with milk. Microwave 30 to 40 seconds. Froth 2 minutes. Brew a cup of Pumpkin Spice coffee on the smallest size, right into the cup with the milk. Drizzle caramel on top. Stir. Savor.
  • Oh yeah–and I won the Candle Game last night. (I never win the Candle Game, so I am recording this for posterity, because I’m sure it’s not going to happen again anytime soon.)
